Martha Jean Johnson is the author of The Queen’s Musician, her debut historical novel about Tudor court musician Mark Smeaton and the downfall of Anne Boleyn. Before turning to fiction, she spent decades writing about public opinion and policy and co-authored several nonfiction books on major political and economic issues. She also writes about historical fiction and the craft of reading and writing.
