Ed Darack is an American author, photographer, writer, and cartographer whose books combine extensive field research, reporting, photography, and mapping. He has written military nonfiction about U.S. Marine Corps operations in Afghanistan and Iraq, including The Warriors of Anbar, Victory Point, and The Final Mission of Extortion 17, as well as earlier adventure narratives about solo mountaineering and sea kayaking. His magazine writing has appeared in publications including Smithsonian Air & Space, the Marine Corps Gazette, Newsweek, and Proceedings of the U.S. Naval Institute.
