Daniel Galera (born 1979 in São Paulo) is a Brazilian writer, literary translator, and editor who was raised in Porto Alegre. He began publishing fiction online in the late 1990s and co-founded the independent press Livros do Mal, later publishing novels, short stories, and the graphic novel Cachalote. His acclaimed fiction includes The Shape of Bones, Blood-Drenched Beard, and Twenty After Midnight; he has also translated contemporary English-language authors including Cormac McCarthy, Zadie Smith, and Jonathan Safran Foer into Portuguese.
