Grazia Deledda (1871–1936) was an Italian Sardinian novelist and short-story writer who began publishing while still young. Her prolific fiction, shaped by Sardinian landscapes, traditions, and patriarchal society, combines realism with lyrical, psychological, and religious themes. She received the 1926 Nobel Prize in Literature, awarded in 1927, and continued writing novels and story collections until her death.
