Elizabeth Sherrill was an American Christian writer, editor, and biographer who began as a freelance magazine writer and later became a longtime contributor to Guideposts. Working closely with her husband, John Sherrill, she coauthored and helped shape bestselling nonfiction such as The Hiding Place, God's Smuggler, The Cross and the Switchblade, and The Happiest People on Earth. She authored or coauthored more than 30 books, many of them inspirational accounts of faith, missionary work, and personal transformation, and she and John founded Chosen Books.
