John L. Sherrill (1923–2017) was an American Christian writer, editor, and publisher who worked as a freelance writer in Europe before spending more than six decades as an editor and writer for Guideposts magazine. With his wife, Elizabeth, he coauthored bestselling Christian biographies and memoirs, including The Hiding Place with Corrie ten Boom, God's Smuggler with Brother Andrew, and The Cross and the Switchblade with David Wilkerson. The couple also cofounded Chosen Books, and Sherrill wrote extensively about Christian spiritual and charismatic experiences.
