Michael H. Fisher is an American historian and emeritus Robert S. Danforth Professor of History at Oberlin College. He has written numerous books on South Asian and Indian history, including A History of India, A Short History of the Mughal Empire, Migration: A World History, and An Environmental History of India. His scholarship often examines interactions between South Asians and Europeans, colonialism, migration, travel, and cross-cultural exchange.
