Carl R. Trueman is an English theologian, church historian, and author who holds a PhD in Church History from the University of Aberdeen. He has taught at the Universities of Nottingham and Aberdeen and is a professor of biblical and religious studies at Grove City College. Originally a specialist in Reformation and post-Reformation Protestant thought, his writing has expanded to examine modern identity, critical theory, secularization, and the sexual revolution; he has authored or edited more than a dozen books, including The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self, Strange New World, Luther on the Christian Life, and Crisis of Confidence.
