Marcus Sakey is an American novelist and screenwriter whose writing career began with the 2007 crime thriller The Blade Itself. He is known for gritty Chicago-set crime fiction as well as the Brilliance trilogy—Brilliance, A Better World, and Written in Fire—which blends speculative science fiction with thriller conventions. His novel Good People was adapted into a film, and his books have been translated and optioned for screen projects.
