Sarah J. Naughton was born in 1975 and grew up in Dorset. After studying English Literature at University College London, she spent ten years as an advertising copywriter before turning to fiction. Her debut, the Victorian supernatural thriller The Hanged Man Rises, was shortlisted for the Costa Children’s Book Award; she has since written young-adult and adult psychological thrillers, including The Mothers, The Festival, and The Other Couple.
