Mike Carey, also known as M. R. Carey, is a British writer of novels, comic books, screenplays, and films. He began his professional writing career in comics, creating acclaimed work for DC and Marvel including Lucifer, Hellblazer, The Unwritten, X-Men, and Fantastic Four. He later became known for the Felix Castor novels and bestselling speculative fiction such as The Girl with All the Gifts, which he also adapted into a BAFTA-nominated screenplay.
