Doug Naylor is an English comedy writer, author, director, and television producer. He began writing radio comedy with Rob Grant, became a head writer on the satirical series Spitting Image, and co-created the science-fiction sitcom Red Dwarf, writing and later directing much of the series. Under the joint name Grant Naylor, he co-wrote the Red Dwarf novels Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers and Better Than Life; he later wrote the solo Red Dwarf novel Last Human and has continued developing fiction and screen projects.
