The Agony of Bun O'Keefe

Set in 1986 Newfoundland, this quirky and heartfelt story follows fourteen-year-old Bun O'Keefe as she escapes her troubled home life and embarks on a journey of friendship and self-discovery. After hitchhiking out of town, Bun finds herself in St. John's, where she is welcomed into a diverse household filled with colorful characters who help her learn that the world is much larger—and kinder—than she previously knew. Through her experiences with her new friends, Bun begins to understand the importance of belonging and the promise of new beginnings.
