Orphan Daliah Owens, dismissed from her bank job after a false accusation, seeks a new start by joining a wagon train heading to Texas, where her knowledge of herbs makes her an invaluable helper. As she faces the hardships of trail life and forms bonds with her companions, including a gruff scout named Spencer Gaines and his son Chad, she begins to find hope and purpose.
