Outpost 9

Set in 1892 Manchester, the story follows Edwin Cooper, an impoverished carpenter, and his wife Betsy as they become involved with the Institute of Thinkery's groundbreaking research. While Betsy joins a new program, Edwin is stationed abroad at Outpost 9, where he faces demanding work and mysterious events, including the appearance of two bodies. As he seeks to reunite with his wife, Edwin uncovers unsettling secrets about the Institute’s technologies and their true purpose.
