Prairie Bloomin'

"Prairie Bloomin'" by Linda K. Hubalek continues the story of a Swedish immigrant family from the Butter in the Well series, focusing on the childhood of Alma Swenson on a Kansas farm between 1889 and 1900. The book draws intriguing parallels between the main character and the author, sharing similar backgrounds and experiences in central Kansas. Through Alma's diary, readers gain a glimpse into life on the homestead as she grows up, marries, and begins her journey off the farm.
