A Reluctant Belle

Set in the aftermath of the Civil War, this story follows Joelle Daughtry, a Southern belle balancing her efforts to rebuild her family’s plantation and her secret work advocating for education for former slaves, all while navigating the dangers posed by the rising Ku Klux Klan. Loyalties are tested when Schuyler Beaumont, a childhood rival and new political candidate, emerges as a key figure in her life, forcing Joelle to confront complex emotions and alliances.
