Doctor Larson is a brilliant but dangerous man who seeks to unlock the parapsychic abilities of a young boy named Thomas, using manipulative techniques to trigger his powers. As Thomas's abilities develop, he begins to lose his autonomy and confronts the peril of total destruction.
