Beware the Night

On the island of Bellona, seventeen-year-old Veda, belonging to the oppressed Basso class, navigates a society divided by strict rules and social hierarchies centered around sun worship. Her close friendship with Nico offers a rare moment of solace amid the hardships faced by her community, where the ruling class, the Dogio, hold power and privilege. When her grandfather is chosen for a sacrificial offering to appease the sun, Veda begins to see the deep-rooted injustices of her world and must confront her beliefs to join a clandestine revolution.
