The Uglies

Set in 1969, this story follows Bobby, a Vietnam War veteran returning home with visible scars and injuries that make him feel out of place in his small town. As the community begins to target those who are injured or are considered "disgusting," Bobby refuses to accept this harsh judgment. Facing hostility, he prepares to stand up for himself and others like him, finding hope and love along the way.
