Gretchen and Paul, refugees from a devastated Earth, embark on a new life aboard the ancient colony ship Vanguard during its generation-long voyage to a new solar system. As they explore the ship’s vast, uncharted biological habitats, they face the challenges of an ongoing epidemic and the ship’s compromised systems.
