Commanding the Pacific

"Commanding the Pacific" by Stephen R. Taaffe offers an in-depth look at the leadership of 15 high-ranking Marine Corps generals during World War II, highlighting their essential roles in organizing, training, and leading successful combat operations. While known battles like Iwo Jima and Guadalcanal are renowned, the book emphasizes the significant influence of these generals in shaping the Corps' wartime achievements.
