The Righteous Remnant: The House of David

The House of David, a religious communal society founded in 1903 by evangelist Benjamin Purnell in Benton Harbor, Michigan, is explored in this in-depth study. Once a thriving community with over 700 members, it was known for its baseball teams, farms, and entertainment ventures, all rooted in an Anglo-Israelite millennial tradition. The book details the group's rise, prosperity, and eventual scandals involving allegations of misconduct and financial issues, leading to legal troubles and Purnell's retreat from public view.
