Liora Day joins the crew of the SS Kratos, seeking to help prevent a powerful machine from falling into dangerous hands, amid a conflict with the Coalition. As they race to protect the Omne Occasus and the Macrocosm, she finds herself drawn to Tariq, a brooding medical officer with a complex past.
