The Lipstick Bureau

Set in 1944 Rome, The Lipstick Bureau follows Niki Novotná, a newlywed and multilingual operative recruited by a secret American spy agency to establish a covert branch in the city. Working with a diverse team, she crafts false stories and spreads propaganda to undermine enemy morale while navigating personal and professional challenges. As the war progresses, Niki questions her obedience and faces increasing dangers, all while forming unexpected connections amidst the backdrop of a liberated Rome. Inspired by a real-life OSS operative, the story highlights a woman's courageous efforts to challenge conventions and contribute to the war effort.
