Scouting crews on the newly discovered planet Dandros encounter a landscape teeming with life, yet devoid of humans or vertebrate animals. The only signs of past civilization are a solitary castle and a mysterious statue called "the anomaly," which holds stories of love, demise, and the planet’s origins. As they investigate, they learn about Doug, a traveler turned to stone, who had longed for the arrival of a mysterious being known as the Goddess. The story hints at deep histories and unfulfilled hopes woven into Dandros’s silent landscape.
