The Blessed

Set in 1844, this story follows Lacey Bishop, a young woman whose life becomes increasingly complicated after she goes to work for a preacher and his wife, eventually marrying the preacher to care for a girl left on his doorstep. She then joins a Shaker community, where her beliefs and circumstances challenge her understanding of love and happiness. As Lacey grapples with her feelings for Isaac Kingston in a community that opposes marriage, her journey explores the pursuit of true happiness amidst difficult choices.
