Set in a Ukrainian settlement in Western Canada, this story follows Katja and Wasyl as they begin a new life together amid hopes of independence and opportunity. Their stability is challenged by the outbreak of war and the fears surrounding the internment of Ukrainian-Canadians, leading to turmoil and separation. As the community comes together to face these hardships, the couple confronts difficult choices that could impact their future amidst the hardships of wartime.
