After losing her job with the US Forestry Service, Celeste Foster takes a bold step and answers an ad for a job in rural Virginia, only to find herself in an alternate version of the Appalachian mountains. Tasked with hiking up a cursed mountain to save a town from destruction, Celeste discovers that gods and monsters exist alongside humans in the Valley, where magic is woven into every family.
