Katie Carew, known as Katie Kazoo, wishes she could be anyone but herself, and her wish unexpectedly comes true as she begins transforming into different people. During a field trip to Nature School, Katie's transformations lead to humorous and challenging situations, especially when she turns into the strict counselor Genie-Genie the Meanie, who then gets them lost on a hike. The story follows Katie's adventures and efforts to set things right after her unexpected transformations.
