Vera, a fae with a fiery temper and monstrous appearance, strives to earn a place among the Rogues but finds herself entangled in a dangerous situation after attempting to steal from the Enforcer—breaking one of the fae laws in the process. As she strikes a fragile bargain for her life, she is forced to work with the enigmatic and perilous Enforcer to uncover a deadly plot threatening her world. Throughout their uneasy alliance, Vera begins to see that her assumptions about him may be wrong, even as a shadowy enemy lurks, ready to destroy everything. Ultimately, Vera must confront a difficult choice that could plunge her world into darkness or save it.
