A Lesson Learned

Set in 1850 Nuneaton, this story follows young Saffie Doyle, who has grown up on a canal boat amid challenging circumstances and family struggles. Despite her dreams of becoming a teacher, she faces numerous obstacles, including her father's declining behavior and unexpected family crises. As she steps into a caregiving role for her siblings, her resilience and hopes for a different future are put to the test.
