Pastime Lost

"Pastime Lost" by David Block explores the early history of baseball, revealing how a simpler, older version of the game played in England laid the foundation for the American sport we know today. The book details the game's social significance, its players—including notable figures like Jane Austen and King George III—and its eventual decline. Rich in research and engaging storytelling, it offers both entertainment and insights for baseball fans and history enthusiasts alike.
