Set two years after the events in the Monster Lands, this story follows Harrell White-shoulders, a griffin haunted by past horrors and battling terrifying memories as he works along the Isthmus Canal. When a young griffin named KeeKee and her friend Twig seek his mentorship, their secrets and dangerous belongings lead them on an adventurous journey that pushes Harrell to his limits. As they delve into the wilderness and uncover long-lost creatures, the lurking threat of a deadly, corrupted book and monster’s technology looms ever closer, threatening their safety and the fragile peace they've managed to find.
