When a young woman named Alice Troy is murdered and a parishioner named Howard Drake is convicted and sentenced to hang, Reverend Bernard Paltoquet becomes involved in a psychic mystery to uncover the truth. With the help of a psychic doctor friend and a mongrel dog, Bernard is alerted to Alice’s restless spirit and works to solve the case before time runs out for Drake.
