Call Me Ishmaelle

"Call Me Ishmaelle" is a feminist, diasporic retelling of Herman Melville’s classic, set against the backdrop of 19th-century whaling voyages. Centered on an adventurous woman who disguises herself as a cabin boy, the novel explores themes of gender, identity, and human nature through a diverse crew and a mysterious connection to a white whale. Blending historical adventure with modern sensibilities, the story offers a fresh perspective on the timeless tale of the sea.
