Fourteen-year-old Kimathi's life changes dramatically when political violence upends his comfortable life in Kenya, forcing him and his family to flee to a displaced persons camp. As they navigate new challenges, including prejudice and scarce resources, Kim begins to adapt and find hope with the help of new friends. Together, they work towards improving their circumstances and reclaiming a sense of stability.
