In September 1953, a mysterious helicopter crash in the jungle sets off a tense investigation involving a secretive figure known as BlackJack. Detective Ash Carter tracks a trail of murders, including ex-soldiers, into a strange town in northeast Malaya where locals are reticent and danger lurks around every corner.
