The Simulated Plantation

Cory Sergeant, a young Black computer engineer, finds herself trapped in an intensely realistic simulation of an 1860 Alabama cotton plantation after testing a time-travel program. As she navigates her new role as a white male tutor, she grapples with her moral beliefs about slavery and tries to discreetly improve the lives of the enslaved, all while uncovering a murder and seeking a way to escape the simulation. The story explores her efforts to survive, her internal conflicts, and her desire to return to her own time.
