After being on the run from the sinister Jackie Blue, Carol Ann and her mother seek refuge in a remote Louisiana town, where tragedy strikes on her sixteenth birthday. Under the guidance of Mama Queen, a descendent of Haitian Voodoo royalty, Carol Ann learns about her unique abilities as a 'moon child' and the mysterious power residing within Mama’s house.
