At St. Bride's College in Cambridge in 1905, Jonty Stewart, a charismatic new teacher, brings change to the traditional institution and forms a deep bond with the introverted mathematician Orlando Coppersmith. As their friendship evolves into a profound connection, a series of murders targeting students with a shared attraction to men shakes the college.
