The Maltese Meatloaf Mystery and Other Tales

This two-part film noir mystery follows retired detective and culinary private eye Phillip Bartlow in a humorous and tangled web of crime, comedy, and romance set in 1951 Midwest and California. In the first installment, Bartlow investigates a dry meatloaf mystery that leads him into contact with gangs, police, and a killer, while also falling for his secretary, Connie. The sequel sees the newlyweds traveling cross-country for their honeymoon, where they encounter further peril and humor amid a cast of colourful characters.
