Thuvia, Maid of Mars

In "Thuvia of Ptarth," Martian princess Thuvia rejects the advances of a suitor just as Cathoris of Helium, son of John Carter, arrives at her court. Though Cathoris harbors deep feelings for Thuvia, she is bound by a promise to another. Their world is thrown into turmoil when Cathoris learns that Thuvia has been kidnapped by a fearsome green warrior from the treacherous depths of Mars, prompting him to take action to rescue her.
