Captain Benjamin Bantam is sent back in time to find a cure for the Shadow plague, only to arrive in a bizarre alternate 1944 where electricity and history have taken a different path. In this world of luxurious Aerotels, advanced hydrologic computing, and a space race with Germany, Bantam uncovers the growing threat of a Nazi takeover, all while forming a close bond with Dr. Rachelle Archenstone. As he races to save this alternate America and find a way home, he faces difficult choices that could alter history itself.
