In the winter of 1886-87, a French archaeological team led by M. Grébant unearthed an eighth-century grave in a cemetery in Akhmîm, Upper Egypt, where a reclining monk held a small anthology of sacred texts in his hands. This collection included influential writings such as the Book of Enoch, the Apocalypse of Peter, and the Gospel of Peter, which have been linked to significant theological debates and early church history. These ancient texts, once highly regarded and considered inspired, were ultimately lost to time, but now offer a glimpse into the spiritual heritage of the past.
