Breathmaker

Modern efforts by ethnographers have helped the Seminole tribe recover aspects of their Muscogee mythology and oral traditions, which include two distinct cosmological stories: the Eastern Creek and Western Creek Traditions. These traditions present different accounts of the world's creation, featuring immortal beings, the emergence of humans from water or underground, and the influence of a creator god named Breathmaker. Each version reflects diverse cultural narratives that deepen understanding of the tribe’s ancient mythological worldview.
