Beneath the Sicilian Stars

Set against the backdrop of World War II, Beneath the Sicilian Stars follows sixteen-year-old Annalisa Aiello as she grapples with the impact of war on her family after her brother is stationed at Pearl Harbor and her father is arrested as an "enemy alien." Her journey across the United States unfolds alongside her cousin Alberto's struggles in bombed Sicily, where he faces the crumbling of traditional life and seeks his place in a chaotic world. Both characters confront the remnants of a secret from their family's past while holding onto hope for a brighter future amidst adversity.
