Paris Savages

Set in 1882 on Fraser Island, the story follows Bonny, a proud Badtjala man, who agrees to travel to Europe with German scientist Louis Müller and Müller's daughter Hilda to showcase his people's ancient culture. As they perform across major European cities, they encounter both enthusiastic audiences and invasive scientific curiosity. The narrative explores themes of love, bravery, cultural pride, and the struggle against exploitation, bringing to life a lesser-known chapter of history through the eyes of its characters.
