Castle of Refuge

In this retelling of an Ugly Duckling story, Audrey, a young woman from late fourteenth-century England, faces the aftermath of her sister’s cruelty that leaves her scarred and societal prospects diminished. Seeking her true destiny, she finds refuge at Dericott Castle, where she secretly works as a servant and navigates complex emotions, love, and trust. As she and Lord Dericott, a scarred nobleman, develop a connection, they must confront life-changing decisions about love and identity amid surrounding danger and societal expectations.
