Songs of Innocence and of Experience

"Songs of Innocence and of Experience" is a collection of 45 poems by William Blake that explores two contrasting states of the human soul: innocence and experience. The collection features both parts, with the earlier "Songs of Innocence" published in 1789 and the later "Songs of Experience" in 1794, offering a poetic reflection on themes of childhood, societal hardships, and the complexities of human perception. Through short, evocative poems, Blake examines the joys and struggles of life amid the social changes of his time.
